We are #MoreThanThreeQuarters!

The Waiting Room
The Waiting Room is a theatrical experience like no other— a waiting room of the future, designed for efficiency, cost-cutting, and control. Patients and clients are unaware of the system’s grip on them until Mara arrives and sees the truth: they are trapped in an endless loop, bound by its rules, unable to escape.

Through a fusion of projection, theatrical magic, and live performance, One and Three Quarters Theatre, in collaboration with digital artist Chronic Insanity, brings this surreal and thought-provoking piece to life. Inspired by Beckett’s Waiting for Godot, the performance blends autobiographical storytelling, humor, and surrealism to highlight the realities of disabled lives while celebrating joy and resilience.

In July 2024, we shared our Work in Progress performances at Gulbenkian Arts Centre, supported by Arts Council England, Gulbenkian Arts Centre, and the University of Kent School of Arts. The response was incredible, with valuable feedback that will shape the next stage of the project.
Accessibility Commitment
We are committed to making our work as accessible as possible. Our scratch performances were relaxed, with no flashing lights or loud noises. Audiences had access support upon arrival, and we offered two versions of audio description, available on YouTube:
-
AD v1: Set and character descriptions
-
AD v2: Pre-show access information, set, and character descriptions
